This week on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are focusing on Hostess sets from the new Idea Book and Catalog that debuted earlier this month. Have you had a chance to see all the great exclusive stamp sets that are being offered? Oh my goodness - you'll be so happy and want to book multiple workshops this year! My card design this week features the Silhouette Sentiments hostess level 1 stamp set. I LOVE it!!! And guess what?! Stampin' Up! announced at the annual Convention this week that we're going to have an awesome hostess promotion next month - any hostess who has a workshop total of $350 or greater will automatically receive an ADDITIONAL $25 in FREE merchandise on top of the freebies she would normally earn. I know, it's FANTASTIC news! So make sure you book your workshop with me ASAP - August will be here in just a few short weeks!!!
When designing cards, I really like using the card sketches on the Clean and Simple Stamping blog and chose FTL13 for my card. The colors used are all the In Colors for this year - concord crush, pear pizzazz, poppy parade, peach parfait and blushing bride. I must admit that the new In Color 1/2" stitched-poly ribbon is so easy to work with - I think I'm going to have to order them all! The DSP is from the In Color stack and I used my In Color Stampin' Write Markers to ink up my floral images from the stamp set and stamped 2-3 times with each before reapplying color... that gives the flowers a feeling of depth so they don't seem so flat. It also makes it easy to fill up the panel!
As I was doing some blog surfing this week I happened to find 2 great ideas... unfortunately, I didn't write down the blogs so cannot give proper credit, sorry! The first was adding the Stampin' Up! decor element to my clear block storage unit... doesn't it work perfectly?
And here's the second great idea - use the inner blocks from the storage unit as extra foam cushions when using your paper piercing tool to poke holes (as I needed to do for my brads on my sentiment).
Here is a picture of the storage unit opened up (a few blocks are missing because I have them pulled for a class). When you first get the unit, each hole is filled with a large piece of foam... you remove them in order to fit in the clear block. Genius, right?! I loved the idea and wanted to share it with you!!
I hope you have been inspired to book a workshop so you can earn this exclusive hostess set! Not only will you have a great time stamping with your friends and family, but you'll earn great hostess benefits as well as an invitation to my Hostess Appreciation event next June. Contact me to schedule your party! And if you are looking for even more great ideas, be sure and head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog to see what my creative friends were able to come up with this week using Hostess sets! Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by today!
