How did it get to be Friday already? This has been a busy week for us and time just got away from me! Since it is Friday, that means it is time for a Fabulous Friday project for the Sisters in Stamping blog and this week we're focusing on the Summer Mini catalog - don't forget, it ends on August 31st so if you want to order from it you must do so this month! My project this week features the Favorite Thoughts stamp set and Square Lattice impressions folder for the Big Shot.
I bought the Favorite Thoughts stamp set right away because I loved the sayings in it... and this one by Eleanor Roosevelt just screamed out for a tea bag holder of some sort: "A Woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water."
I looked in my cupboard to see what kind of tea bags I had and I found these Four Red Fruits Black Tea flavored teas by Twinings. The colors on the packaging matched the Sunny Garden DSP well (daffodil delight, poppy parade and pear pizzazz), don't you think? So I based my card on those colors, even though you can only see the top of the tea bag peeking out from the scallop envelope. This envelope was created using my Big Shot and the scallop envelope bigz die (please note that you need to use the crease pad with this die). I love that the DSP is double-sided so you can see two different patterns. I finished off the envelope with a knot of pear pizzazz stiched-poly ribbon.
I wanted to keep the card simple so just added some texture to the pear pizzazz card stock mat using the Square Lattice impressions folder which is also found in the Summer Mini catalog. The sentiment was stamped on a piece of whisper white card stock and I embellished it with 3 gold brads, spaced perfectly using my Mat Pack and paper piercing tool.
Thanks for stopping by today! Please be sure and check out the other fabulous projects on the Sisters in Stamping blog after Noon EST today.
