For Fabulous Friday on the Sisters in Stamping blog today we are featuring sneak peeks from the upcoming Occasions mini catalog (it starts on January 4th!!). Many of you should have received yours in the mail this week - if you didn't get it and you want one, please contact me to let me know! It is full of some outstanding new stamp sets and accessories. (Don't forget about my Open House to kick off this catalog and Sale-a-Bration on Friday, January 21st and Saturday, January 22nd!!)
One stamp set that caught my eye right away was the Valentine Defined stamp set - I used many of the images on my buckle card above. The one that did it for me was the one with the two flamingo birds - their necks form a heart. It's a little hard to see, but I overstamped it on the definition of Valentine on my flap. I am participating in a 48 person shoe box swap at Leadership next month and am contemplating using this card - what do you think? Do you like it?
Here is another view of the card when opened up... I used the modern label punch to allow a larger opening for the flap to slide into. Do you see the embossed edge on the inside whisper white piece? That is from the new Framed Tulips impressions folder. And the fun heart punches are cut from the VERY glittery new Red Glimmer Paper in the Mini. I stuck with my favorite color combo for Valentine's - real red, chocolate chip and pretty in pink. Please let me know what you think of this card... and I'll be sharing a few more sneak peeks over the next few days as we countdown to Tuesday's debut!!!
If you are going to be out celebrating the start of the New Year tonight I hope you are safe and have a wonderful time! We'll be with family tonight and then heading home early since my poor daughter Amanda has to be at swim practice at 7 am tomorrow morning.
Happy New Year!!!!!

I love this card, Debbie, and think it is a wonderful choice as your swap. I love how you used the modern label punch to tuck the flap in and the embossed border really kicks it up a notch.

Thanks, Michelle! It's a fun card to make and one I haven't done in a while.
