If you haven't purchased the Filled with Love bundle yet, maybe this project will entice you just a bit...
Our theme this week on the Sisters in Stamping blog is Valentine's Day cards and I also needed a make-n-take for my demonstrator team meeting last night so I decided to create a project that would work for both - you know how I love it when a project does double duty!! I created this pocket card using the stamp set and Designer Series Paper from the Filled With Love bundle - gotta love it! The colors include real red, pretty in pink, chocolate chip and whisper white and a few punches helped it come together pretty quickly. I was inspired to make a pocket card after receiving my "Sister" Rachel's Christmas card (check that out here).
Here is a picture of the inside card panel - the round tab punch makes an easy tab to help you pull it out of the pocket. Pocket cards are really not that hard to make, I don't know why I don't make them more often. You just need to cut your card stock 11" x 4-1/4" and then score on the long side at 1-1/2" and 5-1/2". The sides of the pocket are held together with sticky strip. You'll want to wrap your real red satin ribbon around and tie the knot around the flap before attaching it. Be sure and glue the DSP to the front panel before adhering the flap down - I like using stampin' dimensionals for the flap. The chocolate chip inside card mat measures 5-1/4" x 3-3/8" with the whisper white card stock panel cut to 5-1/8" x 3-1/4". After stamping "LOVE" with chocolate chip ink directly on the DSP, I stamped the dotted heart circle on whisper white card stock with pretty in pink ink and punched it out with my 3/4" circle punch and put it in the center of the "O". Lastly, I added a little bling to the center using a rhinestone jewel. I love these!!
So, do you like my card? I am really pleased with how it turned out and was so happy I could use it to get two "to do" items checked off my list this week.
Don't forget to check out what my Sisters in Stamping came up with this week... I'm sure their projects are FABULOUS! Be sure and visit after Noon EST today!!
Thanks for visiting with me today... we have a big 3-day swim meet this weekend that our team is hosting so I can't promise that I'll get posts done since I'll be at the pool working and cheering on my kids. Now that my oldest daughter has turned 13, my kids swim in different sessions so it's going to be LONG days on Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 6:45 am for warm-ups. I'm also frantically trying to get some trades made for Leadership next week... yikes! Maybe I can take them with me and stamp while we have some downtime during warm-ups and between sessions. I better get to work if that's going to happen... enjoy your weekend!!
