Welcome back to Fabulous Friday! This week on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are focusing on projects featuring the Big Shot Petal Cone die found in the Occasions mini catalog. I decided to make a scrapbook page that one of my daughters can use with photographs of their BFF's (Best Friends Forever in girl-speak). Naturally, I reached for the Extreme Elements stamp set along with Friends Rock. The color scheme ended up being chocolate chip, crumb cake, tempting turquoise, so saffron, melon mambo and whisper white. Did you notice that I made my own designer paper? I love doing that with stamps because I can control the color. I left my photo mats white so that no matter what colors were in the pictures it would work.
When looking at the Petal Cone die-cut, I thought the heart shape would make a great pocket for a hidden journaling tab. I used two tempting turquoise die-cuts and cut down the front piece so it was straight across the top and added an additional scallop, too (click on any photo for a closer look). Then, using the side tabs already on them, I put them together to form a pocket. To cut the inside journaling piece, I just ran the whisper white and melon mambo card stock through the Big Shot and cut them down, snipping off the side tabs. The letters on the heart come from the GoGo Boots sizzlit set. I added glitter to the letters after they were adhered to the heart using a 2-way glue pen and Dazzling diamonds. The pull tab for the journaling piece is the round tab punch with the flower from Itty Bitty Shapes.
Here are a few more photos... I can't wait to get pictures on this page! Be sure and check ou the other projects posted on the Sisters in Stamping blog later today... I'm sure you'll find many uses for this versatile Big Shot die!!
We have a HUGE 3-day championship swim meet this weekend that our swim team is hosting so I'll be away from my computer. Unfortunately I didn't get posts done ahead of time so I will not have any posts until Monday. Forgive me! Have a wonderful weekend!!
