It's Fabulous Friday over on the Sisters in Stamping blog and we are focusing on techniques this month. This week's technique had to feature a brayer so I chose "emerging color" for my project. I just love the Medallion stamp for this technique because it is such a great solid image!!
I made this card really easy on myself by starting with a piece of DSP from the Lap of Luxury pack and then overstamped it with En Francais using concord crush ink (see above for a close-up). After that dried completely, I inked up my Medallion stamp with Versamark and then heat embossed the image with clear stampin' emboss powder. Once it cooled, I used my brayer to add concord crush over the entire piece. Easy-peasey! Here's a tip for you - make sure you always ink the brayer and roll it in the same direction. You can go over the card stock repeatedly to get the desired depth of color.
The focal image on this card is such a large one that I just added a piece of organza ribbon and tied it in a knot as my embellishment and placed one of the large rhinestone jewels in the center of the Medallion. I matted it with a piece of whisper white card stock and attached it to a pretty in pink base card, pulling those colors from the DSP itself. This card could cover a variety of needs - wedding, bridal shower, anniversary, birthday, congratulations or even just a hello to a friend. Why don't you dust off your brayer and give this technique a try this weekend!
Thanks for stopping by - don't forget to visit the Sisters in Stamping blog later today to check out the other brayer techniques featured. Have a wonderful weekend!
