Have you been following our catalog tour the last couple of Fridays on the Sisters in Stamping blog? This week we are focusing on the Elements section and I just love these stamp sets because they are great for scrapbooking. I designed the page above using one of my new favorites - Creative Elements. I got the color combination from my gift exchange that I got from Gaylyn Pantana at my downline meeting last month (basic black, whisper white and melon mambo) and the layout was inspired by the one featuring the Creative Elements stamp set in the catalog on page 137. I wanted to do a 12" x 12" page that I could use for my Scrapbook Club which will be meeting on Monday evening. It's great when you can fulfill two obligations with one project, isn't it?!
I found it very difficult photographing this page - the black didn't come out very dark and then white looks a little gray. The flower image was embossed with basic black craft ink and clear embossing powder repeatedly on the left-side of the base page and then twice on a piece of whisper white scrap card stock. I colored them in with my melon mambo stampin' write marker and then cut them out so I could layer the flower for more dimension. The center was embellished with a rhinestone accent. I wasn't sure what theme everyone would want to make their pages so I went with the "Happiness Always" sentiment from the Happy Greetings stamp set found in the Summer Mini catalog. If you like this set make sure you order it before the end of this month!!
I just love the butterfly in this stamp set - it is so pretty when cut out and embellished with a rhinestone! I think I'll be nice to my club members and pre-stamp and cut these out for them on Monday!!
If you'd like to join a club or learn more about scrapbooking, give me a call! Thanks for stopping by today... be sure and head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog after Noon EST today to see what fabulous designs they came up with this week! Have a wonderful weekend...
