Phew! It's been such a busy week since I last posted - I had two sessions of a Holiday Mini catalog Open House last weekend, my Diva Day on Sunday afternoon for my Top 3 Demonstrators in my downline, a fun workshop on Tuesday night and an altered journal class with the lovely ladies at The Williams Home on Wednesday plus my kids now have swim practice every afternoon. I promise to try and be better about posting this week even though it is another busy one! We have our first swim meet of the short course season, which our team is hosting, so it will be a fun-filled 3-day weekend of swimming for my kids and volunteering for me.
And now on to the reason you visit me - stamping! This week on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are focusing on Halloween cards for our Fabulous Friday theme. I wanted to showcase a cute stamp set called Kidoodles which has quite a few really cute images with sentiments. I ended up liking my Halloween card above so much that I'll be using at my Halloween Mom & Me class next month - Mr. Spider is just tooooo fabulous! This card features several new In Colors: calypso coral, lucky limeade and wisteria wonder - not your traditional Halloween pallette, but I like it!
I used ruffled ribbon, the new glimmer paper and my Big Shot to add lots of texture to this card - the web on the calypso coral card stock was created using the Spider Web textured impressions embossing folder and the frame around Mr. Spider features one of the Designer Frames folders. Check out the bling on the mat of silver glimmer paper - I absolutely LOVE this gorgeous glitter paper in the Holiday Mini catalog!! I finished off the card with a stamped "happy halloween" sentiment punched out with my word window punch.
The sentiment and spider are together as one image in the stamp set, but I cut the words off mine using my craft and rubber scissors and mounted them on the side of my block. This is why I love that we mount our own stamps with Stampin' Up! - it gives you the ability to do this and offers way more versatility out of the stamps.
Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure and head over to the Sisters in Stamping blog after Noon EST today for more Halloween inspiration. While you're there don't forget to leave us a comment so you can be entered in our blog candy contest this month! We're giving away four different stamping goodie packs... you can leave a comment on each of the Sepember posts to be entered four times!! The winners will be announced on the Sisters in Stamping blog post next Friday.
Have a wonderful weekend!

I love this card! I would have never thought about putting those colors together for a Halloween card but they work and look great! I also fell in love with this stamp set; it was one I was not familiar with. This card is so colorful and fun - I am placing an order tomorrow and ALL of the products used to make this card will be on there. lol. I am so CASE'ing this one. Thanks for sharing!
