    This week on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring our favorite stamp set from the brand new Holiday catalog for Fabulous Friday and I have to say that right now Owl Occasions is at the top of my list!  I love the versatility of this set and who doesn't love this cutie-patootie Owl?

  I challenged myself to only use one color collection of stampin' write markers plus a neutral and try to come up with several different cards with minimal embellishments - perfect for a brand new stamper.  I decided to stick with the Brights collection and early espresso and created one birthday card with matching gift tag and one Christmas card with matching gift tag.  My gift tags are mini cards sized at 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" and I strung Baker's Twine through a hole in the top corner so they can be tied onto a gift bag.  Didn't they turn out cute?

   For the birthday card and gift tag I used tempting turquoise, old olive, melon mambo and tangerine tango for a fun and bright set.  Coloring the different parts of the owl with the brush tip end of the marker gives you the flexibility to add a variety of colors to a single solid-image stamp.  Once you've finished coloring, just huff on the stamp to remoisten the ink and then stamp.  Easy-peasey!

  Here is my set for Christmas... I just changed out the colors sticking to the traditional real red and old olive.  The holly leaves, Santa hat and stockings along with the sentiment in this set make this easy to create.  I added just a simple knot of whisper white organza ribbon to embellish the card... a great ribbon to add to your collection!
