Happy Monday - I hope you had a fabulous weekend!! We made it through the big snowstorm and ended up with about 10 inches of snow without losing power, thankfully, and my kids have been enjoying their snow days while school is closed. Just 3 hours North of us in metropolitan Washington, DC where my sister Cindy lives they got 30 inches of snow!!! Incredible! So while we were stuck at home this weekend I had fun stamping. How about you?
After seeing so much snow I wanted to think of Spring flowers, so for this week's quick & easy (QE) card I brought out my Blended Bloom single stamp and paired it with the Go Wild DSP stack and the Perfect Pairings stamp set that is a FREE Sale-a-Bration (SAB) selection when you purchase $50 from Stampin' Up!
My card was inspired by this sample project found on page 114 of the Annual catalog above.
It was difficult capturing the center of the flower since black card stock doesn't photograph well... this angle gives you a better idea of how this card looks in real life.
Unlike the sample in the catalog, I opted for melon mambo for the flower and used a piece of DSP from the Go Wild DSP stack for my banner. Here's a close-up of the center of the flower, created with the help of some scallop circle punches and card stock that I textured.
I also jazzed up the inside of my card by stamping the flower image twice in the corners, leaving just enough room to write a note and sign the card. This card is one of the cards for my Card Club this month - I hope they like it!
Here's one more view of my card.
