I held my Hostess Appreciation event on Tuesday, June 29th and was thrilled to have 24 hostesses from the catalog year in attendance. Unfortunately, the key I was given to my church did not work, so I was really behind by the time I was able to get into the Fellowship Hall to set up for the night. Alas, I was unable to take any photographs as everyone started coming in before I had finished getting everything set up for the evening.
I am very blessed to have some wonderfully understanding stampers and many pitched in to help me finish... we got the chocolate fondue fountain flowing, door prize tickets and gifts handed out and catalogs passed around so everyone was happy! My family pitched in to help and my daughter Kelsey stayed with me to help with refreshments and prizes throughout the night. I had a catalog scavenger hunt that everyone filled out and drew a winner of a $25 gift certificate from those entries. Patty Bennett had shared a wonderful color chart on her blog which I CASE'd and had my daughters Amanda and Kelsey help me fill out and give away to my hostesses. They loved having a handy reference with all the colors. In addition, I had an In Color bookmark as one of the make-n-takes. I didn't get pictures of those but do have a picture of the card make-n-take to share with you.
This card features the Greenhouse Gala DSP, Occasional Quotes hostess level 3 and Friends Never Fade stamp sets as well as the new daffodil delight 1/8" taffeta ribbon. I LOVE these new colors, too - early espresso, peach parfait, pear pizzazz and cherry cobbler. The card base and image panel are very vanilla card stock. Do you notice the scallop circle that the flower is on - it is the brand new 2-3/8" scallop square punch - it is AWESOME! Can you believe that all of these products were preorder sneak peek items that I was able to order on June 1st? Being a demonstrator has many perks, and this has got to be one of the BEST!!
Another perk that I absolutely love is building relationships with my wonderful stampers. I have 3 ladies whom I affectionately call my Ya-Ya Sisters. They are the best of friends and are so much fun when they attend my events. Carolyn, Terry Gayle and Shirley were so sweet and brought me these gorgeous roses on the night of my Hostess Appreciation event - they really made my night, especially given how frazzled I had become after not being able to get into the Fellowship Hall as early as I had planned. Thank you so much, Ladies! I love you all!!
This is the thank you card I sent to them to thank them for the beautiful flowers. It features a color combination that I pulled from the new Color Coach: daffodil delight, pretty in pink and marina mist. The pretty in pink was texturized with the new Vintage Wallpaper texturz folder and the thanks sentiment is from the Perfect Punches stamp set. I used marina mist 1/8" taffeta ribbon and had to embellish with some dazzling diamonds for Carolyn, my Glitter Queen!
If you would like to be invited to my Hostess Appreciation event next June, be sure and host a workshop, private stamp-a-stack or join a club with me from July 1st through June 25th. I would love to share my love of stamping and Stampin' Up! with you and your friends!! I currently have openings/waiting list for an evening techniques club and card of the month club. If you are local and interested in attending each month, please contact me ASAP!
Thanks for stopping by - I hope you have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend!!
