Diva Day projects for 1st quarter 2012

  I held my Diva Day event last night for my Top 3 Demonstrators for the  Jan - Mar, 2012 earning period and wanted to share the projects with you.  I have been holding these incentive events for over a year now and love rewarding these leaders on my team for their hard work!  I have a point system that I use that is a combination of sales, recruiting and personal promotions.  The demonstrators that we celebrated last night were Jennifer Rawlings, Wendy Boothe and Julia Miller.  Congratulations, Ladies!!

  We started the night with a meal of Paula Deen's taco soup, chips & salsa, salad and orange creme cake for dessert (I pinned the taco soup recipe and it is sooooo good!).  Afterwards, everyone opened up their goodie bags that I stamped with my new favorite Island Indigo ink and Everything Eleanor stamp set.  Inside was a brand new large 2" x 1-1/2" Simply Adorned charm and 24" chain along with a sampler of the new daffodil delight stitched grosgrain ribbon and new In Color card stock.  The projects for the night were creating six different inserts for the charm.

  I CASE'd the black/First Edition insert in the lower right-hand corner from one we had made at Leadership last year and the sunset with butterfly in the lower left-hand corner is a CASE of one that was posted on Stampin' Connection by Ashley Sokal.  The rest are ones I designed.  Even though the Simply Adorned line is being retired at the end of this month, these are great conversation starters and a way for my business builders to share their Stampin' Up! story with others.

  Sadly, I forgot to take photos of everyone last night... thanks to Jennifer, Wendy and Julia for their hard work!   I hope you all had fun!!

 

 

Our Fabulous Simply Adorned line

This week on the Sisters in Stamping blog we are featuring Stampin' Up's newest product line - Simply Adorned jewelry.  These charms are FABULOUS!  Available in several different sizes, these charms open up so you can create all kinds of different inserts to totally change the look.  Add some ribbon, baubles or even our new key and crown trinkets and you're all set!  I decided to use my favorite punch - the owl - and create a quick and easy insert to wear with Valentine's Day in mind. 

Can you see the cute little heart punched out of our awesome new red glimmer paper?  The photo doesn't do it justice, but it really glitters!  I used a hostess level 1 In Color DSP pack pear pizzazz sheet for my background 2" x 1-1/2" piece and used the opposite side for the owl's body.  I kept my colors very simple - chocolate chip, whisper white and crumb cake and tied a piece of the poppy parade ribbon on my chain... voila - a fun piece of art to wear for the next week.  I wear so much red and green that I may even get away with wearing this charm even after Valentine's Day... what do you think?

Here is another sample of an insert for this charm.. it was one of the make-n-takes at Leadership.  We were given these charms - can you believe it?!  And instead of using a chain we attached it to a long piece of basic black satin ribbon.

Here's a close-up - I just love Vintage but don't do it very well so being given directions for something as simple yet beautiful as this charm was fabulous!!
