I can't believe it's Friday already... where has the last week gone? Our product feature over on the Sisters In Stamping blog is the pop-up dies available for use with the Big Shot. I decided to stick with the Holiday mini catalog and used the O Christmas Tree Pop-Up Bigz XL die (#116822, $42.95). I actually was able to purchase this die for just $10!! How? I hosted a $250 workshop order last month and qualified to purchase one item from the Holiday Mini for just $10... yes, even as a demonstrator I get to earn Hostess benefits! Just one more great reason to sign up as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - enjoy discounts on ALL of your purchases, get tons of ideas from our Stampin' Success magazine, my monthly downline get-togethers and yahoo group communications and earn hostess benefits on qualifying orders. Win-win, right?! I'd love to have you join my team, the Little Debbies... contact me to find out how! There's a fabulous new starter kit available right now which includes the My Digital Studio software - it's a great time to join!
Okay, back to this week's project. You may remember a similar box I created with the Three Tier Cake pop-up die on this post here. I decided to recreate that project, but with Christmas themed papers. I did have to alter the dimensions of my box completely to fit the larger Christmas tree die but I really like how it turned out!
When the project is opened up flat, the individual squares for scrapbooking end up being 5" x 5" and I used the Merry Moments DSP (#115672, $9.95) to pull my colors and embellish the box. The pull tab on the lid of the box is a square clear button (#105447, $4.95) with 5/8" satin ribbon (#114616, $8.95). I used brushed gold and real red cardstock to decorate my tree, running it through the SU! Tree Decorations sizzlit die (#118140, $5.95) on my Big Shot.
Here is one last view of the box, half-closed. I like that the box prevents the tree from getting smooshed.
