I have another hobby that I love almost as much as papercrafting and that is beading. I love the colors and textures found in beads and how great is it that I can whip up a pair of earrings and matching bracelet and necklace for almost every outfit that I have?!
I met my friend and fellow stamping "Sister" Karla Anders when I was walking to a class at Leadership in Orlando last January. I happened to look over at the person walking beside me and noticed her earrings... I think I shrieked when I saw that she had made them with build-a-brads and pieces from the Pretties kit. I actually took her picture with the earrings and our friendship was formed! Karla had won the Stampin' Up! WOW! art contest for demonstrators several months earlier with these earrings... how cool!!
My roommate during Leadership was Sharon Skelton of MA - she had made earrings as gifts for her downline that were attending with the flower filligree designer and rhinestone brads and I came home and made a bunch for my door prize basket. This pair above uses the large flower filigree brads as well as the rhinestone ice circle brads in green. The pearls are from a Pretties kit and the rest of the earring components are from my beading stash.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how you can use your Stampin' Up! products in a whole new way! I have other ideas for jewelry to play around with and will share those with you as soon as I get them out of my head and into reality.
Thanks for stopping by... have a wonderful Sunday!
Really awesome earrings. Super cool.
