Next Friday I am holding a Christmas card stamp-a-stack - everyone that attends will go home with a total of 16 cards - 4 each of these 4 Christmas cards. I've been holding this monthly class since August so that my stampers could have a nice little stash of Christmas cards ready to mail out after Thanksgiving. Each month the cards have been different, featuring a variety of stamp sets, colors and accessories. The following are my offering this month...
This first card features the Cardinal Christmas stamp set that is colored with the watercolor crayons on naturals ivory cardstock - so easy and such a WOW in real life. Colors used are always artichoke and ruby red.
This next card is inspired by a swap I received from Mary Polcin at Founder's Circle. It uses the Clear Bigz scallop square die to cut out the base and is a square card that will fit into a regular A-2 envelope, so doesn't require extra postage. Stamp sets used are Holdiay Best (level 1 hostess set) and Priceless and the colors are basic black, handsome hunter and real red. The ornament punch is "hung" off the flourish image from the Priceless stamp set using the gold elastic cord found in the Holiday Mini.
I've been on a Kraft cardstock kick lately and I love it paired with very vanilla and soft suede - on this card above I used it with the Serene Snowflakes and French Filligree stamp sets. I really love the Movers & Shapers Big Shot die for making these window cards and this shape is from the Holiday Windows set in the Holiday Mini catalog. I stamped the snowflake on soft suede with platinum shimmer paint and it really shows up well - it was then punched out with the curly label punch, which nests nicely in the window, with just a touch of dazzling diamonds in the center for extra sparkle. The "Peace on Earth" sentiment on the outside of the card as well as the "Merry Christmas" inside the card are part of the Four the Holidays stamp set in the Holiday MIni.
This final card is a CASE of a Founder's Circle swap I received from Michelle Rahal, I just added it to a very vanilla base. I love how she created the Christmas tree from the scallop circle cut out with the Big Shot. The cut-out was run through again with the Petals-a-Plenty impression folder and highlighted with a Uniball Signo white gel pen. The DSP used is my favorite - Merry Moments - and the tree is topped with a star punched out of the brushed gold cardstock. And how quick and easy is it to punch out the tree trunk with the modern label punch? You could conserve cardstock by punching it from the chocolate chip mat layered beneath the real red piece. It would also help to take some weight off the card.
My class is now full, but if you like any of these cards I would be happy to offer one in a private class setting or a "stamp-a-stack-to-go" class. Contact me for further details or to book your date!
