I hope 2010 finds you happy, healthy and successful in all that you do!!
It's Friday and you know what that means.... Fabulous Friday!! We are starting off the New Year with a sneak peek of some of the accessories in the upcoming Occasions mini catalog over on the Sisters in Stamping blog for Fabulous Friday today. Please be sure and stop by to check out what my fellow Sisters came up with this week! The post will go live at Noon EST.
Here is my contribution this week - I used the new mini milk carton Big Shot die to create these two milk cartons to hold some candy. So that the recipient can open them without destroying the containers, I used mini library clips to hold them closed. I was really hoping that the Box #2 Big Shot die would hold these, but alas it didn't. So, I decided to create one myself based on the measurements of the 2 containers. It was pretty easy - the milk cartons are basically 1-5/8" x 1-5/8" square at the base so I made it 3-1/2" x 1-3/4" and 1-3/4" high.
Here is what my base piece of cardstock looks like - it is 7" x 5-1/4", with scores at 1-3/4" on each side and snipped at both short sides. Fold all the sides up and adhere on the ends. I then wrapped a 1-1/4" x 11" piece of the gorgeous Sending Love specialty DSP around the box and secured it at the back.
Do you love the bird embellishment? Guess what, you can create it with a single punch! I punched the stem out with a small scrap of old olive cardstock and the bird with a small scrap of chocolate chip (to match the milk cartons). The wing of the bird is punched out from the back side of the small 1-1/4" x 1" scrap that was left over from the DSP strip. To make the bird stand out, I attached it with stampin' dimensionals.
Last, I added a real red handle - it is a piece cut to 11" x 1" and secured with our beautiful new pretty in pink corduroy buttons.
Here's one last photo with one of the cartons open - I love how this turned out. There are so many great accessories in the new Occasions mini catalog and these are just a few. I hope you are excited about all the fun projects you'll be able to create with them!!
