Happy Friday! Today is my son Brandon's birthday - he turned 11... hard to believe! The card above is for him and it's also my Fabulous Friday creation this week for the Sisters in Stamping blog where we're featuring items from the new Spring Catalog that debuted yesterday. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, be sure and click on the link HERE.
I used two different stamp sets for this masculine birthday card - Collage Curios (hot air balloon) on pg. 24 and Essentials (sentiment) on pg. 22. The balloons were punched out using the new 7/8" scallop circle punch on pg. 16 and matted with the 1-1/4" scallop circle punch that is a carryover item from the Holiday catalog and found on pg. 36. The patterend paper strip is from the Parker's Patterns DSP pack found on pg. 20 - full of designs perfect for more masculine projects. My color scheme is made up of very vanilla, cherry cobbler, daffodil delight, not quite navy, marina mist and early espresso - all taken from the DSP. I kept the card simple and unadorned because what boy wants ribbon on his birthday card?!
If you didn't receive a Spring Catalog in the mail, don't worry - I have plenty on hand so if you'd like one please let me know. For those of you who live close by, I'll be holding an Open House to kick it off on Saturday, Jan. 26th from Noon - 3 pm. Stop by and see the products in person, sign up for some classes, win some door prizes and create some fun free make-n-takes!! Make sure to RSVP so I have enough materials cut...
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! We'll be celebrating Brandon's birthday at the pool - our team is hosting a three day swim meet and he'll be swimming the 1000 Free for the first time tonight. I'm sure I'll have no voice left by Monday but it's going to be exciting. For even more inspiration with Spring Catalog projects be sure and hop over to the Sisters in Stamping blog.
